SHICHIGAHAMA JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Outline
Reconstruction of a junior high school that was damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Little Spaces" with various functions and sizes are arranged in various places by expanding a part of one corridor. These spaces allow for flexible activities such as small-group instruction and independent study. The workspaces and mini-libraries are located one by one for each grade level. Although collaboration between elementary and junior high schools was being considered, it was difficult to discuss future prospects at the design stage, so the figure-loop layout and zoning provide a minimum level of preparedness for expansion.
