- A public elementary school with a branch of the city library, a nursery school for school children, and a community center is located in the urban area of Tachikawa City, Tokyo. A three-story bridge connects the school building and the study hall, which are located on two different sites. Each room is divided by reinforced concrete walls arranged in a discrete windmill pattern and beams connecting them. The movable walls can be opened to connect classrooms and workspaces, and closed to divide them.
