FUJISAWA SUSTAINABLE SMART TOWN

Outline
This smart town will be built on the site of a former Panasonic factory in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture. This is a joint project developed by the public and private sectors, Fujisawa City and partner companies that are promoting advanced initiatives. It will include approximately 1,000 residential units (including detached houses and apartment buildings), commercial facilities, and health, welfare, and educational facilities. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2018, and will be the first of its kind in Japan to introduce a system that links the creation and storage of energy in all houses to achieve zero CO2 emissions in all detached houses. The town management company aims to develop a sustainable town by introducing new services and technologies.
