The North American headquarters of Novartis Pharma, a pharmaceutical company, is located in East Hanover, New Jersey, USA. A two-story atrium with lounge spaces located on opposite sides of the building allows staff to interact with each other across floors. The building is supported by eight columns and a core in the center of the floor. A post-tensioned concrete slab is used to keep the columns from falling at the periphery, and the cantilever is approximately 10 m long.
