THE YASUDA AUDITORIUM RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT, UNIVERSITY OF TOKYO

Outline
A view of the progress of the renovation of Yasuda Auditorium, which is scheduled for completion at the end of 2014. The existing ceiling, which was suspended from a steel frame in the attic, is rigidly connected to the newly inserted steel frame to unify its behavior during an earthquake. Steel plates were inserted into the boundary wall of the outer corridor of the auditorium to supplement the seismic strength. The original space of the Yasuda Auditorium is being restored by modern technology.
