DAIWA UBIQUITOUS COMPUTING RESEARCH BUILDING

Outline
The site is located at the southwestern edge of the University of Tokyo campus, facing the side of Kasuga Gate (alley). In this 5m wide "alley", non-combustible cedar boards are randomly arranged using a computer system to create a scaly appearance. The contents of the building are the research and education of ubiquitous computing led by Ken Sakamura (Professor, Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies, The University of Tokyo; Director, Ubiquitous Computing Infrastructure Research Center), and were realized with the full donation of Daiwa House.
