GUANGZHOU LIBRARY

Outline
This large-scale library, with a collection of approximately 4 million volumes and a total floor area of approximately 100,000 m2, is located in a corner of a cultural zone in the New Urban Center Development Zone in Guangzhou, South China. The library was planned as a facility to close the cultural zone, and was required to harmonize with the surrounding buildings and enhance the attractiveness of the area. In order to change the closed image of the library, an eight-story atrium was placed in the center of the building.
