NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF MODERN ARCHITECTURE

Outline
A facility for collecting information, collecting, storing, and exhibiting materials, and conducting research and studies on valuable modern and contemporary Japanese architectural materials that are in danger of being leaked, lost, or deteriorated. Established and operated by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. The new building (completed in 1984) and part of the annex (completed in 1971) of the former Yushima District Government Office were renovated. In the new building, heat-treated cedar wood was used as exterior louvers to cover the existing exterior walls.
