- This theater is dedicated to Awaji Island's traditional performing art of ningyo joruri (puppet theater). The number of ningyo-za (puppet theaters) on the island declined over time, and they were consolidated and organized into a single theater. The space is surrounded by curved reinforced concrete walls made of Corten steel mesh. In addition to its function as a theater, it is also considered as a temporary evacuation site in the event of a tsunami disaster.
