- Outline
- This museum is located by the Enokuchi River in Kochi City. It is a museum that mainly exhibits artworks that have attracted attention as Art Brut. It is located in a corner of a group of warehouses from the Showa period that have been revitalized as an art zone. Adjacent to the museum are a restaurant, Tosa Baru, and renovated warehouses, including Takogura, where performances are held. It is part of the Art Brut support project of the Nippon Foundation. The warehouse, built of Tosa plaster and cedar, was renovated. Rather than constructing a new building, the aim was to increase the value of the existing building and materials while utilizing them. The exterior of the building, made of Tosa plaster and drainage tiles, has been restored using traditional techniques.
