SUN MOON LAKE ADMINISTRATION OFFICE OF TOURISM BUREAU

Outline
The Sun Moon Lake Administration Building is located on the north side of Sun Moon Lake, the largest lake in Taiwan, and is designed to maintain the landscape and preserve the environment, and to serve as a visitor center for tourists. A sense of continuity between the architecture and the topography is created by manipulating the slope and volume of the building to resemble the uplift of the ground surface. Three types of decorative formwork made of Taiwan cedar are used. The 34-meter span arches of both buildings are made of prestressed concrete.
