Outline
This is a plan for the main building of Obayashi Corporation's Technical Research Institute. By combining dispersed research functions into one, 200 researchers are concentrated in a 90 x 18 m two-story atrium workspace. Passive systems such as natural ventilation and lighting from high sidelights that take advantage of the building's location, as well as active equipment systems for air conditioning and lighting, were introduced, and energy use was managed by visualizing the reduction effects. BEE value of 7.6.
