Outline
In a residential area of Kyoto, two rental houses are attached to the second floor of a house with an atelier for an etching artist. The entrance is reached through a cut-through made by a simple block construction method. The landlord and tenants share a garden. The exterior walls are plastered with mortar and laths (wire mesh) over wood.
