CHUSHINJI TEMPLE PRIESTS QUARTERS

Outline
Chushin-ji Temple of the Soto sect of Buddhism is located in the mountains of Nagano Prefecture and has a history of 550 years. The goryou (storehouse) planned for this project follows the layout of the temple and the roof shape is designed to be in harmony with the temple. The large reinforced concrete roof is a combination of a shell and folded-plate structure, and is supported by only three pillars. A wooden room space is created under the large roof.
