House in Shimokitazawa

Outline: After acquiring a new plot of land south of the “Shimokitazawa House” (featured in this magazine in 2001), which was completed eight years ago, a detached guest house was added. Together with the L-shaped main house, the two structures form a U-shape, allowing a view of the garden from anywhere on the property. The detached house is a single-story structure designed to be considerate of the surrounding area while allowing the trees in the garden to receive plenty of natural light.
