- A vacation home situated along a valley in Atami. The site slopes from north to south, and the building’s volume is arranged to encircle existing trees—such as a large boulder, Japanese spindle trees, and Japanese maples—located midway up the slope. The roof follows the contours of the site, forming a spiral shape. In addition to the existing plants, the garden features native species found in the surrounding valleys, as well as edible plants such as avocados and herbs.
