environmental screen house
Asashi Yada/ATELIER-ASH
- Outline
- A residence and studio complex situated on a site flanked by cliffs to the north and south. The structure consists of two volumes aligned north-south, connected by two reinforced concrete slabs. The slabs are suspended from steel beams, allowing for greater flexibility in the interior layout. The interior spaces are enclosed by transparent glass, with expandable metal screens and shoji screens installed on the exterior; opening and closing these elements allows for the adjustment of thermal and acoustic conditions, as well as privacy.
