House in Kitakamakura

Outline
A house built halfway up a slope. The road winds around the house from west to east, and the trees along the road and the plants in the garden envelop the house. The angle of the large roof gradually changes from the eaves, and together with the lower roof and the thatched roof, it gently connects the house to the mountain beyond. Inside, the floor levels rise in a stepped, split-level configuration to follow the slope of the surrounding terrain.
