House in Kagurazaka

Outline
The designer's own residence in a residential area in central Tokyo. The site was developed as a residential area in the Edo period (1603-1867), and many sites with narrow frontage and depth were developed. The site has a frontage of 4.9 m and a depth of approximately 7.7 m. There is an elevation difference of approximately 1.4 m within the site. The building was constructed with four stories from the basement to the 2.5 stories, with height restrictions relaxed under the district plan to improve disaster preparedness.
