House in Hayama

Outline
A house for a couple built on a landfill site on a southern slope. Approximately 70% of the site is designated as a landslide planning area (red zone), and the steep slope of the mountain is behind the house. Two 3-meter-high reinforced concrete retaining walls were placed to protect the residents from collapsed earth and sand, and the one-story wooden house is built inside the retaining walls. To allow for future wheelchair access and stretcher loading and unloading, a ramp is provided on the deck to provide a direct line of flow from the outside to the main room.
