- The building stands on a slope created by the uplift of the Rokko mountain range in Kobe. In order to reduce the load on the artificial ground, the footprint was made smaller, and the upper floors were suspended from the roof by lot materials to allow for more free overhang. The south side of the building is fully open to ensure views of the city and the horizon.
