Ido and Sedo

Outline: Considering the natural lighting conditions and plans to widen the front road, the main house was placed at the rear (southwest) of the site, while the mountain gate building was positioned along the roadside (northeast). Between them lies a sedo—an external space that doubles as a garden, characteristic of Kanazawa townhouses. Beyond the sedo, diverse internal earthen-floored spaces overlap, adapted to the cold, snowy climate.
