Outline: Renovation of a 50-year-old row house. The existing structure was partially decayed, so it was reinforced with a steel frame to resist earthquakes. The existing structure was also left in place, preserving the history of the addition and remodeling, which is a mixture of the old and the new. The steps in front of the exterior staircase can be moved to accommodate future road widening. The steps to the ground will be installed by independent construction. The interior LVL staircase is a spiral staircase with multiple rotating axes that overlap each other while being displaced.
