House by the temple
Shohei Kuma + Elsa Escobedo / KUMA & ELSA
- Outline
- The house faces a temple across the street. The fan-shaped volume is arranged so that the light from the south casts as small a shadow as possible on the house itself. It is surrounded by a steel fence with jagged contours. The same composition of enclosed world and architecture within it was developed on the site, as if the front road were a mirror of the world of the temple.
