i-works 1.0 Hokkaido Tobetsu Model

Outline
This is a cold-region model of a standardized house that is being developed nationwide. It was built with local materials (Hokkaido cedar, birch, oak, and diatomaceous earth produced in Hokkaido) and local human resources (furniture designer and landscape architect), ensuring an insulation performance of 0.23 W/m2-K at the exterior skin, and air circulation with passive ventilation and shed air conditioning (cooling). The exterior walls are made of Hokkaido cedar with a woodlong eco-friendly paint finish. The roof is topped with 5.47 kW solar panels.
