Musubi-An: Hermitage of the Knot

Outline: Hut for temporary stay. It was built in the Gassho style using rice straw harvested from the nearby terraced rice paddies. The wooden structure was constructed using traditional methods of construction. For the straw thatching, straw bundles harvested and stored last year were used to make the thatch, and etsuri (shinotake and madake bamboo) were fixed to the beams with straw rope and shuro rope.
