House in Lake Aoki

Outline: A conversion to a residence for a couple who moved from the city center to the countryside, located on the shore of Lake Aoki overlooking the Hakuba mountain range. the existing building was planned as a church at the time of completion, and various additions were made when the building was converted to a day care center. in the current project, the generous space originally used as a church was restored while reducing the size of the building to establish a rich relationship with the surrounding nature.
