- The house is built on a site that was converted from rice paddies to farmland. the house incorporates the veranda, earthen floor, and shed, which are still common in the area, and has a height between a one-story and a two-story building. the space is created with a gabled frame made of laminated red pine and three braces spanning the interior and exterior.
