Tomie Library Sangosan
Junpei Nousaku Architects
- Outline
- This is a renovation of an 80-year-old house in Tomie on Fukue Island in the Goto Islands. It was originally planned as a guesthouse for the owner, who lives in Tokyo, but the function of a library was also added so that the people of the island could gather there. The exterior of the building is a combination of the vermilion-colored houses that are common in the town of Tomie and the color of sango, the island's livelihood.
