House in Woods in Tateshina

Outline
It stands on the gentle slope of a villa area in Tateshina Highland. The structure consists of a wooden volume with a long, narrow gable roof over a concrete pilotis with two cores, which was built by retaining the mountain cherry, birch, red pine, and maple trees that grew in the existing forest. The walls around the central fireplace were made into high-powered load-bearing walls, which made it possible to create openings around the perimeter.
