Outline: Reconstruction of a house for a family of four who have lived on this land for about six years. The house is located in a typical Kyoto district where machiya houses used to stand side by side. The entire house is composed of skip floors: the basement bedroom and basement hall, the first floor hall, children's room, water room, and upper loft, and the second floor terrace, living room, dining room, and kitchen, all in succession with gradual changes in level.
