Outline
The building stands on a narrow 14 tsubo lot in a high-density residential area. In a simple box, seven spaces of about 6 tatami size are stacked like skip floors from the first basement to the third floor above ground, and a staircase is placed in the center to connect them. With the idea of actively enjoying the small spaces, the stairwells are made of massive wood with raised handrail walls, which divide the spaces but also connect them appropriately.
