The House of Kichijoji

Outline
A shop and a house for three families in a busy location close to downtown Kichijoji. The structure is made of stacked concrete blocks, and the interior and exterior are finished in the same way. The house is surrounded on three sides and it is difficult to have large openings on the front road side, so we created three courts by ourselves using the kazaguruma plan. Each room faces the two courts, allowing for diagonal lighting.
