House in Asakusa

Outline
This pentagonal house stands on a street corner in a densely populated area. The space between the house and the boundary of the site is used for bicycle storage, planting space, and outdoor equipment storage. At the center of the building is a stairwell with a cylindrical shaft made of 9mm thick steel plates, which structurally supports the floor slabs of the surrounding floors.
