This research facility was built on the premises of AGC's glass manufacturing base in the coastal industrial district of Yokohama City. The facility consolidates and integrates the functions of basic technology development, new product development, process development, and equipment technology development, which were dispersed in the former Keihin Plant and the Central Research Laboratory (Kanagawa-ku, Yokohama). Open areas have been created on each floor to facilitate communication between people inside and outside the company and to speed up research and development.
