THE WEST SIDE SECTION OF FUTABA STATION PUBLIC HOUSING PROJECT

Outline
This project consists of the construction of 86 units of public housing (disaster public housing and rehabilitation rental housing) in the west side of Futaba Station, which was designated as a "Specific Reconstruction and Revitalization Zone" in the difficult-to-return zone due to the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. The project aimed to create a town in which both returnees and immigrants could feel at one with the town, through the earthen entranceways in all units and an outdoor space with a large roof integrally connected to the units.
