TOKYO INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY MIDORIGAOKA BUILDING 6

Outline
This research building is located in the Midorigaoka area of Tokyo Institute of Technology's Ookayama Campus. It is a facility for research in the field of chemistry, and is required to have highly functional equipment to support cutting-edge research, so that the equipment can be easily renewed and maintained. A double configuration of earthquake-resistant walls and openings lined up in a checkerboard pattern, and columns and beams placed behind the walls via insulated widths, enables the building to function against large earthquakes and to have laboratories with few columns.
