Loos Haus
Adolf Loos
- Outline
- The building faces Michaelerplatz, surrounded by historical style buildings, and its simple exterior contrasting with its surroundings caused a social controversy beyond the architectural world at the time of construction. The exterior is clad in white stucco on the upper residential floors and cipollino marble on the lower retail floors. It embodies the ideas of Loos as expressed in "Ornament and Crime" (1908).
