Outline: A renovation and expansion plan tailored to the client’s new business venture on a site housing a mixed-use residence. The “Under-eaves Studio” and the open-air bath area are connected by a “long eave” to form an extension, while in the mixed-use residence, the retail space was remodeled to create a shared kitchen and a new sauna. The architect worked closely with the client from the business planning stage to design a space capable of accommodating a variety of uses.
