MIRIKARODEN NAKAGAWA CULTURAL COMPLEX

FURUMORI KOICHI ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

Outline: Renovation project of the cultural complex "Milikaloden Nakagawa," which opened in 1994. The library, cultural hall, memorial hall, and lifelong learning center, which had been independent from each other, were integrated and reorganized as interlocking facilities by dispersing users' places and bookshelves throughout the building. The goal was to create a state in which "everything is a library. The construction period was divided into four phases, and the renovation was carried out without a period of total closure.
