- A facility for the preservation and promotion of traditional Okinawan performing arts, mainly kumiodori. A new theater form reminiscent of a playhouse was sought for Kumiodori, which does not originally require a theater. The exterior walls, which are based on the motif of Okinawan minka architecture called "chinibu" (a fence made of bamboo woven into a diagonal latticework), and the space under the eaves, which resembles a rain edge, provide protection from the harsh climate and create an aesthetic sense that fosters a sense of the local climate.
