Umeda Sky Building
Hiroshi Hara
- Outline
- This is an example of redevelopment of a 4.2 ha site on the north side of Osaka Station, where a connected high-rise "urban complex" (offices, hotel, stores, etc.) with an unprecedented hanging garden was constructed, and green spaces such as Hanano and Nakano-nature were arranged on the north and south sides to enhance the public nature of a high-density city. To solve the issues of safety and work efficiency, the hanging garden was lifted in one day using Takenaka Corporation's bridge technology, with the steel frame and exterior walls assembled on the ground and the eaves finishing materials applied.
