United Nations Headquarters
Wallace Kikman Harrison + Max Abramovitz, Le Corbusier and others
- Outline
- The project, planned by a committee of architects from 11 countries, consists of a high-rise secretariat building and a low-rise conference center building. The high-rise building eliminates the Breeze Soleil proposed by Le Corbusier and is covered by a glass curtain wall. This simple box-like form became typical of later skyscrapers.
