Outline
Hirose's own residence and the first of the SH series, this was Japan's first steel-frame house designed with 40mm square ultra-thin steel columns and an economical span. Utilizing the characteristics of an industrial product, the SH series realized thorough rationalization and open spaces, showing new possibilities for postwar standardized housing.
