The Paulistano Athletic Club
Paulo Mendes da Rocha
- Outline
- Six columns arranged in a circular pattern on a rectangular base support a ring of reinforced concrete, and the columns in turn support a metal roof with steel cables. Gentle ramps and stairs create circulation and public space at the lower levels. Hoscher's debut work combines the formative expression of concrete with lightness through a structural system.
