SUETOMI AOQ CAFE STAND
G ARCHITECTS STUDIO
- Outline
- A two-story wooden building with a 10.85 m long frontage was converted into a coffee stand. For the exterior walls, calcium silicate boards with copper foil tape were added to the existing walls, and rusting was achieved by using two different finishes: a greenish-blue finish using an ammonium chloride solution (for blue areas) and a rusting finish using soy sauce (for brown areas). A coffee stand of "Aokyu," a new business model by Suehomi, a long-established Japanese confectionary shop in Kyoto.
