Outline: A project for the renovation of an existing community hall and the expansion of a library in Moriyama, Shiga Prefecture. The existing hall was left in its original form and underwent necessary seismic retrofitting and repairs. The library extension has a large curved gable roof with a hanging curve that echoes the ridgelines of the surrounding mountains.
