- This project renovated the site of the former municipal ballpark on the north side of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Eight wooden storefronts and a steel-framed, large-roofed plaza are arranged around a central plaza following the contours of the ballpark. An axis leading from the main building of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum (designed by Tange Urban Architects, 5606 in this issue) to the Atomic Bomb Dome was created on the site.
