- This station building was constructed to coincide with the opening of the west kyushu shinkansen bullet train line running from Nagasaki station to Takeo Onsen station in september 2022, with both the shinkansen and conventional train lines running parallel to each other. The Nagasaki port area urban design conference was established in 2000 to study the design of public facilities around Nagasaki port, and the design of the head-end station facing Nagasaki port was considered.
