- The building was rehabilitated with illegal areas in terms of floor-area ratio and road diagonals, and existing unqualified areas in terms of seismic strength and evacuation routes. the building was made legal by removing the floors from each floor and cutting the stairwells above the fifth floor to create a setback from the road surface. seismic reinforcement was applied to the existing nonconforming portions, and evacuation hatches were installed on the balconies.
